GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- All four Grand Valley high school marching bands were featured in an extravaganza Tuesday night.
It featured bands from Central, Fruita Monument, Grand Junction and Palisade high schools.
"I think the strongest about our band is how united we are," said Kathryn Kennedy, a member of the Fruita Monument High School marching band. "We're a big band family. We love each other and we help each other."
All four bands will be performing in the Colorado West Marching Band along with bands from across the Western Slope and Colorado Springs. Colorado Mesa University Rowdy Brass Band will also perform.
"We're proud of these kids and all the high schools and how they collaborate in a non-competitive environment," said Fruita Monument Band director Ryan Crabtree.
The festival will begin with field shows at noon and conclude with an awards presentation at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults; $6 for students, active military and seniors 55+; and free for children under the age of five.
