Lift tickets have a throwback price for Aspen anniversary

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- For one day this winter, you'll be able to ski or snowboard at Aspen Snowmass for just $6.50.

The resort is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and is selling lift tickets for the same price they sold for when the mountain first opened in 1967: $6.50.

The ridiculously-cheap tickets are only good for one day, Friday, December 15.

The mountain will be celebrating its anniversary the rest of the weekend, however, with Banana Days and an anniversary party the next day, and with a vintage skiing and riding day, complete with a cabin jump and rail jam on Sunday, December 17.

If you don't have an Aspen Card, an extra $5 charge will be tacked on when you buy online.
