GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A new report by Bray Real Estate shows Mesa County real estate market is thriving, but competition is fierce and time is of the essence.
"Any buyer who is serious about buying knows really quickly that they have to act fast," said Coldwell Banker realtor Winona Schwartz.
"There are buyers out there looking for fewer homes so in some sense that can be difficult for buyers. There could be multiple offers on a house due to competing and, they may not have much time to make an offer," said Development Coordinator for Bray Real Estate, Kevin Bray.
With fewer available homes, some buyers are considering another option, and newcomers are willing to start from scratch.
"People need houses, and if people aren't able to find 'em on the resale market they've got to look at maybe the construction side, so the industry is responding to that demand. People feel safer going out there and building, they feel more confident," Bray said.
At the end of the day, there are just some things that make Grand Junction unique.
"My grandfather always used to say that in Grand Junction you can go skiing and golfing in the same day," Bray said.
