PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Thanks to the bond measure 3B that voters passed last November, Palisade High School is breaking ground on a new gym.
It'll have new locker rooms, restrooms, and a training room.
Students and staff say there wasn't enough space in the old gym and games and practices would have to be staggered or students who have to go to other locations.
The project is getting $5 million.
"It's almost surreal at this point, I guess its exciting planning it but it's almost I can't believe it’s happening,” said Dan Bollinger, Principal at Palisade High School.
"Overall were going to be able to make our entire program a lot better, just the entire sports program here at palisade,” said Brendon Anderson, 11th grader at Palisade High School.
There will be a ground breaking on the Dual Immersion Academy gym Friday.
