The U.S. Forest Service is hiring for next spring and summer positions.

The Rocky Mountain region has more than 900 seasonal jobs up for offer, including more than 100 in western Colorado.

Usually, the hiring process takes place in December but because of new procedures this year, they bumped it up to September 14, so they can take their time and find the right people for the jobs.

"Fire, trails, forestry, engineering, wildlife, recreation, fisheries, archeology, multiple of different locations, you know anywhere from Grand Junction to Gunnison, to Telluride, Norwood, Montrose, Paonia, we have some here in Delta,” said Michele Schaal, Administrative officer, U.S. Forest Service.

Candidates will be selected in January and work will begin in March and May.

The Forest Service’s Rocky Mountain Region Temp hiring team will be hosting a virtual job fair every Wednesday from August 22 to October 10 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. For that dial 1-888-844-9904 and enter the access code 7662084.
