Local woman gets new Habitat for Humanity House

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A single mom now has a new home thanks to Habitat for Humanity, and her own hard work.

Lisa Viscaina is the proud new owner of the 74th home dedicated by Habitat for Humanity.

She will move into the new house with her daughter, and grand-daughter that she has raised on her own.

Lisa has put in about 600 hours of her own time to help build her house, along with others in her neighborhood.

While she says it’s incredible to have a new house, she’s more excited about her new neighbors.

“Words are hard. Its hard to find the perfect word because I have so many. I love this community. I have met a lot of great people that are now my friends that I talk to daily, I can picture talking to, and having coffee on the porch, or barbecuing in the backyard. I mean, I can see it all, for the future," Viscaina said

When Lisa’s subdivision is done, there will be over 60 homes built for Habitat For Humanity Families.
