GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Dual Immersion Academy in Grand Junction is currently working on some major projects.
The school is adding a gym, cafeteria and music room. A connection to Riverside Educational Center, next door, is also being built.
"The weather here in Colorado can be very extreme. Hot in August, cold and windy in the winter months. In the spring, it's kind of undecided. So, by having a gym, we can have accommodations for our students to be practicing and having movement throughout the day inside our new gymnasium," said Monica Heptner, DIA principal.
The construction started in May and is expected to be completed next month.
The funding for the annex is from the bond measure passed last year.
