GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Saturday night downtown Grand Junction will be full of holiday cheer for the annual Parade of Lights.
One local company has spent more than 20 hours decorating their float. Spring Works is normally a trailer shop, but Friday afternoon it looked like Santa’s workshop. Preparing their float is something the employees really enjoy.
“I think it’s good team building to take a day a do that. And it’s a good local function. It brings a lot of people out and we enjoy trying to create something that’s not the day-to-day work,” said Bryan Dubose, Manager of Spring Works.
Dubose says they were a little behind on their decorating this year, but they started planning with plenty of time in advance.
"So we start talking about it usually a month in advance, on what's going on and what kind of ideas we have. We usually stick them on the wall and alter them as needed,” said Dubose.
This year the parade's theme is a "Who-Christmas in Junction-ville", based on the Christmas classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
The holiday celebration takes place this Saturday at 5 p.m.
