GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- It's not every day that kids get to go on a shopping spree. But with some help from Mesa County Partners, some local kids got to go shopping, just in time for Christmas.
For ten years, Mesa County Partners has organized a shopping spree for kids in their program.
At Kohl's, kids were partnered with an adult volunteer to take them around the store. They got to pick out clothes they needed for the winter, like sweatshirts and pants, that they may not be able to afford on their own.
One kid at the shopping spree says even though his family isn't rich, he knows he is fortunate.
"This is a big deal to me because its like, a once a year thing. Because this doesn't happen to many people. It's literally just us in the Partners program. Which, I think some people should sign up for, so they can get this opportunity too," said Mesa County Partners Kid, Jacob Nunez.
Rocky Mountain Cummings donated over $3000 for the kids to spend, and Kohl's opened an hour earlier than usual.
