GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- So far Mesa County has seen 3 hospitalizations of the flu since October 1.
That may be less than last year, but experts say flu activity peaks in January.
If you haven't yet, it's a good idea to get your flu shot not only to protect yourself but those around you. Also, wash your hands regularly and cover your cough.
"Over the past week we keep seeing an increase in the amount of lab testing that's being done around the valley for flu. And we are also seeing an increase in the number of visits that folks are having at outpatient clinics for flu,” said Heidi Dragoo, Epidemiology Program Manager, Mesa County Public Health.
If you need a flu shot, call Mesa County Public Health at (970) 248-6900 or visit them at 510 29 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81504.
