Report: Fee-free day brings in applications at CMU

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A new report shows that CMU saw a handful of new applications during the state’s free application day.

Just under 1,200 students sent in applications to Colorado Mesa University back on October, 30, which was Colorado’s first-ever Free Application Day.

According to a report from College-In-Colorado.org, statewide, 22,000 applications were sent to Colorado universities and colleges.

In 2016, only 56 percent of Colorado high school students went to a college, university or certificate program, and only 50 percent of students in the state sent in a FAFSA application.
