The Glacier Ice Arena tips to stay safe in the cold

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- Grand Junction has seen a record-breaking week when it comes to how cold it is, but the folks who work and play at Glacier Ice Arena are pros at handling the cold.

"I love the cold," Jaden Koos, a Zamboni driver, said. "Winter is definitely my favorite season, I definitely thrive in it."

They say a quality jacket, hat and good pair of socks are the way to go.

"Having something that can repel some water, snow, long songs and maybe some light mittens," Koos said.

They also recommend being prepared before you head out the door.

"If you can stay warm, you would do well here, but as soon as you get cold it's almost impossible to warm back up," Koos said.
