GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The election may not be until April, but candidates for Grand Junction City Council have already hit the ground running.
One of those candidates is Anna Stout, and she held a meet and greet event at Copeka Coffee on Sunday to get signatures on her petition.
She says she wants to be a part of Grand Junction’s future when it comes to economic development and growth, and thinks her non-profit experience with Roice-Hurst makes her a strong candidate.
She also says she wants to add younger voice to the council.
“You need a diversity of experiences, and a diversity of perspectives, to really make sure you are considering every perspective. If we don’t have someone in the younger age category on council that means that there’s an entire group, and population whose opinions are not being represented," Stout said.
Stout says if she is elected, she hopes more young working professionals will get involved with City Council.
She is trying to run for District C.
