GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Mesa County DMV is hoping to make your trip to them as quick as possible, with a new express lane.
It's for renewals only, and you can make up to five of them per trip. You can’t have fleet accounts, and no other business can be conducted in this new line.
According to the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, one-third of all the DMV’s transactions are renewals. The summer is the busiest time for the DMV, some customers say they’ve waited up to two hours in lines.
"So, people that have very quick transactions were in with people who had more complicated longer transactions. So, in an effort to get the lines down and people serviced quickly, I just decided to do the renewals only line and we will see how it works out,” said Tina Peters, Mesa County Clerk and Recorder.
You can now skip the trip to the DMV almost completely with new online tools.
