GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- United Way of Mesa County says they have seen growth in fundraising since last year.
They announced they raised $923,627 to support local health and human services programs. The money was raised by 80 local companies and will go toward things like food, and support for kids.
Although they raised more than they did last year, officials with United Way say they hope to hit the $1,000,000 mark next year.
"I work for a man that would say he is pleased, but not satisfied. But we are close. And again, our goal next year is to incorporate more businesses to run campaigns, and with that, I think we'll get there," said United Way Co-chair, Steve Ammentorp.
More than 40 programs in Mesa County have applied for funding in this next cycle.
