GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- Communities all over the country are experiencing a shortage of doctors and nurses.
Friday, Community Hospital took steps to change the trend, opening their doors to 55 high school students from District 51.
Taking them through the hospital with three "mock patients" for hands-on exposure to everything from the morgue to the maturity ward.
"I was interested in business," Tullulah Hill, a 10th grader who attended the career experience said, "But after this day, I think 'medicine, wow, medicine is really cool.'"
Community Hospital has now hosted the fair for five years running.
