City Market workers prepare to strike over health care and wages

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Union members with City Market will decide if they want to go on strike in the next few days.

Union members say they should have the results by the night of March 15.

More than 12,000 workers from the union will be voting Thursday and Friday on whether they will accept an offer from King Soopers and City Market.

The union says they mainly want better health benefits and lower costs for care, as well as better pay. Both sides have been negotiating a new labor agreement since December, when their last agreement expired.
