GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Pear Park Elementary hosting “Culture Day” to help teach students about different countries.

Friday, students were able to travel to different countries by just visiting different classrooms. They were taught about the food, people, traditions and animals of countries like France, Thailand and Mexico.

“They like show their food and some of the activities that they do, and stuff. Just kind of like give them an experience for what it's like being in those cultures," said Dani-Jo Dard, student.
"I’m pretty excited to visit all of them, but I think maybe France is my favorite, that I want to go to," said Madison Barker, student.

Australia seemed to be the favorite among students because they were able to get an up close look at some of the country’s animals like different lizards, snakes and even a wallaby.
