GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A meeting for nuclear weapons and uranium workers was held in Grand Junction.
The event was put on by a group called Cold War Patriots, that advocates for worker benefits.
The meeting Wednesday was designed for employees of nuclear and uranium companies to get together and learn about how they can be compensated through the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act if they were exposed.
"There will be some folks that walk away with some new information on if they are eligible to file a claim. And connect them to resources that can help them through that claims process. Which is another benefit that they will get from coming to an event like this today," said Director of Community Outreach, Chip Chapman.
