Armed robbery in Montrose

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Montrose police are investigating an armed robbery that happened July 11 at a convenience store, located at 938 south Townsend Avenue before 2:30 A.M.

According to police, an employee of the business says the male suspect approached him with a gun, made a few comments and directed him to the store's register.

The suspect threatened the employee during the event and then left the business on foot with money from the cash register.

The suspect was reportedly dressed all in black with a multicolored bandana covering his face.

The suspect left the scene before officers were alerted to the incident and were unable to find anyone in the area who matched that description.
