Parents of lost girl found in Clifton cited for child abuse

CLIFTON, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) A little girl is back home with her parents after she was found by herself at a local park.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, the two-year-old was found by a good Samaritan at Kimwood Park in Clifton Thursday afternoon.

Deputies turned to the public on social media to help track down the girl's parents.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office says the girl's parents were eventually located.

They have been issued a summons for misdemeanor child abuse.
