Youth city council of Montrose

MONTROSE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Youth City Council of Montrose is now taking applications.

City Council of Montrose established the Youth Council to encourage young adolescents to participate and assist city staff.

Students will have community service opportunities and assist the City Council of Montrose with recommendations on issues concerning the youth.

The deadline for Youth Council is next Tuesday, September 24, at 4 p.m. Members have to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above. Council will decide on their members at the October 15 meeting. Appointed members are required to be between the ages of 14-18 years old and serve a 1-year term.

They can reapply until graduation. The youth manual and application is now available for download at council, or can be requested at city hall.
