GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- While Sept. 22 was supposed to be the last day of the Palisade Farmer’s Market, it looks like 3rd and main will stay busy a little longer.
Since the harvesting season has gone so well for farmers, the farmers market will extend until the last Sunday of October.
At the farmers market, there was everything from peaches, tomatoes, and wine.
Farmers say they don’t like to see the market season come to an end, but they're thankful for a few more weeks to sell their product.
“It’s really amazing to be able to serve people direct. We do wholesale a lot of our produce, but we don’t get to meet those people. So, having the opportunity to meet people weekly, hear the recipes that they're making, and how they're enjoying the food is so rewarding for a farmer,” says Field To Fork Farms Jessica Washkowiak.
While the market will be extended until the end of October, they will be taking a break on Sunday, Sept. 28. And they will pick back up on Oct. 6.
