GRAND JUNCTION,Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Motorcyclists in Grand Junction took a cruise down highway 340 for the annual "Distinguished Gentleman's Ride."
Riders around the world are raising money for Men's Health Awareness. As of Sept. 29, Distinguished Gentleman raised over $5 million dollars.
In Grand Junction, riders raised $2,000 dollars. There were over 20 riders locally, and both men and women were welcome.
Officials say the goal of this ride is to raise awareness of health issues men don't speak openly...things like prostate cancer and mental health.
"Is a function of men are not always good at handling men's health very well. We tend to have a history of not being so open with our health issues. Especially things like mental health, let people know that, not only are there people out there, putting in time and effort for the issue. But, that there's no embarrassment or distinction,” says Impromptu Ride Host Richard Lane.
All of the money that is raised will go towards Prostate Cancer Research and Men's Mental Health.
