GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A couple from Fruita is speaking out after a nightmare experience involving a Grand Junction Travel agent.

Garren and Ranlee Atchley say a week before they were supposed to fly to Mexico to get married, they found out flights and hotel reservations had not been booked.

This happened after they were told by a woman at The Travel Connection in Grand Junction that everything was taken care of.

The Atchley's say they worked with a woman by the name of Brenda Muhr, who they hired in 2018 to handle their wedding plans for this last July.

"She probably had received about $70,000, is what we estimated and she couldn’t explain where it went. I have a recording of her saying, something happened with the money, and it was none of my business,” said Ranliegh Atchley.

The Atchley's were able to get down to Mexico, and bring family and friends with them, but they say they had around 40 guests that tried to book through The Travel Connection, and had problems.
