GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Claws will be moving into a new location...a space where people can adopt and board their cats.
Officials with Claws say they have been working on the new location since the summer.
The Grand Opening will be on Saturday, October 19th.
Because of limited space, they are currently housing over a hundred cats, and another hundred is in foster care. But now, they say the new location will make space for more.
“We really have to find a way to find these cats forever homes, not just a year, not just 13 years, and people really pushing them, and we need people to find the right cat and be willing to keep that family member in their home for its life,” says President Claws Vallerie Mazrin.
Claws isn’t funded by the state or government, and they hope that by opening a boarding facility they don’t solely have to rely on donations.
