GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The first Tuesday in November marks Election Day and there's plenty of places to go to mark your vote in Mesa, Delta and Montrose counties. As of Monday afternoon, the Mesa County Elections office has received 33,269 ballots.
The Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, Tina Peters, expects many more. She says many people wait to vote until the last minute. For Election Day, polling center will be open from 7:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Drop off boxes will also remain open until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday night. Ballots will not be accepted after.
"They can go to vote.mesacounty.us and they can check the status of their ballot, make sure it's been received. There's been a lot of postcards that have gone out saying their ballot hasn't been received. So a lot of people were concerned about that, but they can check to see if their ballot has been received and counted," said Tina Peters, Mesa County Clerk and Recorder.
