GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- November is here and the Salvation Army is gearing up for their annual food drive.

The organization is partnering with local businesses to collect food for those who need a little extra help this time of year.

You can donate non-perishable food items to one of the 15 food barrels set up around town.

“Last Year we were able to provide 1,200 food boxes at Christmas," says Amber West, Core Officer at the GJ Salvation Army. "Right now, we have about 100 families signed up for Christmas assistance but we have several days still to register families. So we are expecting to meet last year.”

The food drive starts November 7 and goes till December 13. Families who need to sign up for assistance can do so till November 15
