Robert Dear ruled incompetent to stand trial

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) A man accused of killing three people at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado has once again been deemed incompetent to stand trial in state court.

No new information about Robert Dear had been received from the Colorado Mental Health Institute for a periodic review hearing on Thursday so a judge ruled that Dear was still considered incompetent.

The decision came as federal prosecutors seek their own mental evaluation of Dear, who was indicted last month by a federal grand jury in the 2015 attack. Dear's lawyers say the government seems to want a new evaluation simply because it doesn't like the results of previous ones.
