GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- The mayor of Palisade has reached his term limit. Now, two candidates are running to replace him.
Gregory Mikolai, who's on the palisade board of trustees and a D-51 school board member, says if elected, his main focus will be planning for the growth of Palisade.
David Edwards, a volunteer at Catholic Outreach, with experience in law and management wants to work on a comprehensive plan for the town.
"It is growing. And, we need to manage that in a way that creates economic development and yet doesn't impact the character and personality of palisade in a bad way,” says Palisade Resident Gregory Mikolai.
"We need to make sure people feel welcomed when they come in. That they know that palisade is an inclusive welcoming community,” says Palisade Resident David Edwards.
The candidates will be on the ballot for the April 7 elections.
