GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering free entrance for active-duty military and veterans to state parks in August.

Those who are serving, or have served, can get a pass for August from CPW after showing a proof of service in the form of an active or retired military ID, Colorado Driver’s License or state ID card with the veteran seal or VA medical card.

The passes will be available starting August 1 at any CPW office or state park.

The passes hang from the rear-view mirror of your car, and admit all passengers as well.

Parks and Wildlife say they hope to continue providing the free pass every year.
