GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Cops are known for liking doughnuts, but did you know they're pretty good on the lanes too?
Thursday law enforcement officers from across the Grand Valley went to Orchard Mesa Lanes to hit some pins.
There were no tickets at this event, it was all about building a relationship with the community.
“We have an opportunity to influence young people's relationship with law enforcement and how they look at police officers. That's doing things like this in a fun, relaxed environment where they get to ask questions and have a good time with people in uniform,” said Heidi Davidson, information coordinator, Grand Junction Police Department.
We're told this event has been going on for more than 30 years. And that it’s one of the events the officers and local kids look forward to most every year.
