Breweries raise money for wildfire victims

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- If you're in the mood for something hoppy around the holidays, Kannah Creek is brewing up something special.

It’s called the Resilience IPA. It's not their concoction, but one brewed by Sierra Nevada Brewing. It’s part of a collaboration between many breweries that will raise money for victims of the Camp fire in northern California.

Kannah Creek's restaurant manager has a very close connection to the fire that destroyed the town of Paradise. He lived in nearby Chico. In fact, a house he lived in was destroyed by the fire.

“It’s a horrible thing knowing where you were at, at one time, is no longer at all. Just the power of fire is amazing. Just could not believe it,” said Michael Narducci, restaurant manager, Kannah Creek Brewing.

100 percent of the proceeds from the special IPA will go towards the fire victims. Kannah Creek will start selling Resilience on December 19. About a thousand other breweries are participating in the fundraiser.
