GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Local firefighters were called to another burn that got out of control Saturday, the third in two days.

It started at about 8:30 a.m. on 24 ½ Road. The fire scorched about 1 ½ acre of brush between H Road and I Road, according to the Grand Junction Fire Department.

Fire crews worked for hours to get the blaze under control just before 11 a.m. Saturday. No one was hurt.

GJFD says the agricultural burn got out of control after the wind picked up, and people tending the fire didn’t have enough water to keep it under control.

Lower Valley Fire was also called to help fight the fire.
