"Celebrating Colorado Women" exhibit comes to Grand Junction

The Museum of the West is getting ready to celebrate excellent women in Colorado's history.

The museum is opening the Women of Excellence exhibit on June 2.

People will get the chance to learn more about the inductees like Anna Lee Aldred from Montrose and journalist Susan Jean O'Brien.

The women in the hall came from all walks of life and backgrounds.

152 women have been inducted into the hall of fame.

"It's so important, to learn about these women and tell their stories and understand how they've contributed to Colorado and the world," said Jill Tietjin, who was inducted into the hall of fame back in 2010.

The exhibit will run until September 4th.

The Colorado Women's Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for their 2018 class.
