Clifton library looking to possibly move their location

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Mesa County Libraries will possibly be building a new library in the Clifton or Fruitvale area, and they want to hear input from the community.

The new library would replace the Clifton branch. officials want to move it to somewhere else in Clifton or possibly to the Fruitvale neighborhood.

The library will host a 3-day community forum.

The feedback will help officials decide what resources the new library should have.

They say the Clifton library as it stands today, doesn't meet all of the needs of the community.

“It’s too small for the population it has to serve. It gets very crowded and the experience there is not what it should be. It lacks some facilities that people use in libraries, Meeting rooms and that kind of thing to be specific,” says Mesa County Libraries Bob Kretschman.

The forum will be at the current Clifton branch 590 32 Road. That will be held on October 24th through the 26th.
