Cowboy poets raise money for Mesa County Fire Chief Association

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- The Western Colorado Cowboy Poets and Singers Association hosted a benefit to raise money for the Mesa County Fire Chief Association this week.

The event was exactly what it sounds like, cowboy poets and country singers raising money by doing what they do best -- rhyming.

They decided the Mesa County Fire Chief Association would be a worthy cause for their annual benefit because of how many fires we had this year.

You can help the MCFA too. To ask about the association or to donate you can visit the Lower Valley Fire Department at 168 N. Mesa St, Fruita, CO 81521 or call (970) 858-3133.

Ask for Chief Frank Cavaliere. He's an officer of the association.
