MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A dirt biker who was reported missing over the weekend was found dead on Sunday by sheriff's office deputies and search and rescue teams.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's office, the 31-year-old man was reported missing late Saturday night. He was found in the 29 Road desert north of Interstate 70.

MCSO says a helicopter was used to help crews search, because of the remote area. Due to the mud from recent rain, first responders were flown in by helicopter.

The Mesa County Coroner’s office identified the man as Karl Mangold, of Grand Junction. There were no injuries or suspicious circumstances found during the autopsy. Because he was out in the elements, more testing needs to be done to determine cause and manner of death, according to the coroner.
