GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT News)-- The EUREKA! McConnell Science Museum is hosting a series of youth expedition camps this summer.
This week's camp is the Vega Hybrid Expedition Camp which focuses on environmental science and outdoor recreation. Campers will have two days of activities in Grand Junction and the last three days will be spent camping overnight at Vega State Park. Campers can enjoy hiking, paddle-boarding and learning about the environment while they explore the outdoors.
"They're getting outdoors rather than being indoors and playing video games or doing something electronic. And also exploring and learning new outdoor rec opportunities," said Education Director, Bree Hare.
This camp is for rising 4th and 5th graders and runs until Friday. All other expedition camps offered over the summer at the museum are for 6th through 12th graders. Camp themes and locations vary upon the week. The next camp available starts July 29th with campers exploring Leadville.
