Fall book sale

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The group The Friends of Library is having their annual book sale Thursday through Saturday this week. Leading up to this event was a year of book collection at their 24 hour drop off location at First Congregational Church. Volunteers sorted through donated books and organize by genre.

Hardbacks go for one dollar and paperbacks are sold for fifty cents. There is no entry fee for this event.

The money goes towards programs and services at the library. We are told that money has been contributed to the summer reading program, comic con, and even library renovations.

The event offers something for the book collector and the casual reader, all while being around a passionate group of people.

“We give our time and we give our muscle generously because we believe in reading and we believe that people who can read, should read,” says secretary of the group Maggie Lopez.
