A firefighter was taken to the hospital after a home exploded in the 200 block of West Hanover Circle in Orchard Mesa on Thanksgiving morning.

It happened just after 5:00 a.m.

The Grand Junction Fire Department showed up to the scene around 5:00 a.m. and saw smoke coming from the garage.

Firefighters approached the garage when an explosion occurred which knocked four firefighters to the ground.
