PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- With the Bureau of Land Management giving the final green light on the project, those behind the Palisade Plunge Trail are working to quickly get funding.
Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association is working on a "Power the Plunge" campaign. They're working to collect $30,000 before the end of the month, so they can go after a matching grant from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
The money would be used to start constructing the lower end of the 32-mile trail between Palisade and the Mesa that will descend 6,000 feet.
The deadline to donate is July 29, so COPMOBA can apply for the CPW grant before the August 1 deadline. You can donate by clicking here.
If they get funding, they hope to begin the lower phase next spring.
