GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO News)-- A community came together to remember a local army medic. Funeral services for Sergeant Jon Skogen were held Monday afternoon at Canyon View Vineyard Church.
He was stationed in Hawaii, but was from the Grand Valley.
According to investigators, Skogen took his own life.
We talked to his brother Benjamin who was one of the speakers during Monday's service.
"A large portion of his friends and family, some of the community. People have flown in from various different states to be here and we're just so grateful for the outpouring of support," says Benjamin Skogen.
Skogen was 28 years old.
He had been in the military for seven years.
