GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO News)-- Mark your calendars for Thursday because the Grand Junction Fire Department wants to hear from you.
They will be hosting an outreach session to hear any feedback from the community. This is an opportunity for the public to know what their tax dollars are going towards. The department says they are planning on building more fire houses and further improving response times for emergencies.
"We think that the public has every right to know what that money is going for. That it is accounted for and those books are balanced," says Duke Wortmann with City Council.
The meeting will be this Thursday in the training room at the Fire Department headquarters. There will be two separate sessions starting at 4 and 6 pm.
