GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Heidi Davidson from the Grand Junction Police Department joined us on the KKCO 11 News at noon show Wednesday to talk more about the Citizens Police Academy.

The Citizens Police Academy is hosted free of charge in an effort to increase understanding and awareness through interaction, education and training.

The goal of the CPA is to create and develop a well-informed citizen about the inner workings of GJPD and how officers serve and protect our community.

A selection of participants will be at the discretion of the Grand Junction Police Department. You will receive notification regarding your application and acceptance to the academy.

Applications are available in the lobby of the police department at 555 Ute avenue or visit our website at www.gjcity.org and click on "public safety."

It will be on Thursdays from 6-8:30pm. From September 19th to November 21st.
