50 million Americans don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
This weekend anyone can help give a little that could go a long way.
Saturday is the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Most people got plastic bags in the mail box earlier this week, but if you didn’t it’s okay, you can use a regular plastic bag.
The bag can be filled with nonperishable food items and then left next to your mail box where it will be picked up by a letter carrier.
People with the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive tell us that they will deliver it to food banks around the community.
It’s a national event and anyone can give.
Many food banks run out of food by springtime.
This is also the time where kids get out of school, so meal programs at schools are not able to help children in need of food.
They are looking for healthier food items, if possible.
