New details are emerging in the search of a local pastor.

Pastor Paris Wallace, of Connection Church in Grand Junction, recently traveled to Espanola, New Mexico, for a meeting.

Wallace's wife reported him missing Wednesday night at 5:00 after not hearing from him.

New Mexico Search and Rescue has approximately 40 people in teams of eight people with search dogs, according to officials. They are also utilizing aerial search equipped with high-resolution cameras.

Approximately 1.5 miles uphill from where Paris’ vehicle was found, NM Search and Rescue found a backpack belonging to Paris.

Wallace is described as a white-Filipino male who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

"Really the only thing we can do right now is come together in prayer, that's what we're really asking our congregation to do and our fellow believers in this town, just that the Lord has him in his hands," said Troy Behrens, the worship pastor at the church.

Paris is driving a tan, beige color, 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe bearing Colorado License Plate FQS-377.

Anyone with information is asked to notify the New Mexico State Police at 1-575-758-8878 and notify Connection Church at 970-523-1857.
