Community Hospital's Grand Valley Oncology has been awarded the highest score in National Accreditation. This comes from the The National Committee for Quality Assurance. Last year Grand Valley Oncology earned the basic level of accreditation, with the Patient Centered Medical Home. This year's high mark goes to the Patient Centered Specialty Practice.
"The patient centered specialty practice accreditation really focuses on team approach and collaboration which is particularly important for cancer patients to know that their entire care team is with them and collaborating to ensure the highest level of care possible," says Karen Martsolf with Marketing & Communication for Community Hospital.
GVO is now the only cancer center in Colorado and one of just 31 cancer centers in the United States to achieve this accreditation level.
