Great West Ice Fest brings families out to the mall
The Great West Ice Fest brought out tons of families to the Mesa Mall.
Friday night's festivities were packed with vendors, music and a lot of crafting and carving. People got a chance to see a live carving demo on stage, all done within the span of 15 minutes. Willy's Wild Carvings entertained visitors with the construction of their ice dragon while a wooden carving of penguins was also in the works.
"The theme of this year is ice and fire so we incorporated a dragon shooting fire created with an ice piece, it's really cool," says Willy Tuz, owner of Willy's Wild Carvings.
To go along with the theme of fire and ice, carvers added in a new addition of the fire and ice tower: a whole block of ice that they lit on fire.
