There is an investigation underway after a high speed chase involving law enforcement.

It happened shortly after 10 p.m. Monday night.

We’re told a 20-year-old woman had several active warrants against her and had been eluding law enforcement for days.

It is unclear what the warrants are for.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, during the high speed chase the suspect got to I-70 B and 32 Road.

She allegedly barricaded herself inside a stolen car and tried to hit deputies with it.

Deputies say they were able to arrest her using non-lethal weapons.

We’re told she was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but is expected to be okay.

She has since been released and taken to Mesa County Jail.

Deputies say no bystanders or law enforcement officers were hurt during the incident.
